Objective: To evaluate the relationship between the pathogens distribution causing chronic suppurative otitis media (CSOM) in Xinjiang region and nationalities conception, classification of CSOM ,and distribution of different ages.
Methods: Middle ear pura were collected from 151 patients (164 ears) with chronic suppurative otitis media and cultured for aerobic bacteria and fungus, and antimicrobial susceptibility test was also done, gained the distribution route and kinds of related microorganisinms.
Results: 1.) Pathogens occurring rates is different in our country and abroad; 2.) As the type of chronic suppurative otitis media is different, the kinds and distribution of pathogens is also different; 3.) Fungal infection is commonly found in cholesteatoma otitis media; 4.) Distribution of common pathogens in cholesteatoma with Chronic suppurative otitis media is significantly lower than non-cholesteatoma; 5.) The detection rate of pathogens in patients with CSOM is different in different nationalities; 6.) The detection rateis different patients with different age, 20~39-year-old ages for the peak.
Conclusion: Staphylococcus aureus, Proteus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and coagulase-negative staphylococci are the main pathogenic bacteria of chronic suppurative otitis media. Although the dry climate of Xinjiang region is not benefit for fungal growth, according to results of this study, the fungal infection can not be ignored, it is common in cholesteatoma otitis media.
