Based on the curriculum of the Federal Physicians´ Chamber and the German Society of Palliative Medicine a 40-hours-course of palliative medicine was developed especially for the interests and needs of General Practitioners (GP). The contents basedon the curriculum and were completed with lectures from a home care nurse, a surgeon and an undertaker. All the lecturers have own practical experiences in palliative care. With beginning of the second course an internal control of quality and satisfaction was done. Method: Participants had to rate thelecturers with a mark between 1 (very good) and 6 (bad). The results were added and compared. Results: 53 GPs and 12 nurses took part in the last three courses. The median mark for the 2nd course in 2004 was 1.71; for the 1st course in 2005 1.74; for the 2nd course in 2005 1.73. Two lecturers got always bad marks and therefore will be exchanged in further courses. Conclusion: The comments about the course were quite positive and good comparable.
