German Society of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, Head and Neck Surgery

04.05. - 07.05.2016, Düsseldorf

Welcome

Prof. Dr. med. Werner Hosemann

Dear Colleagues,

on the following pages you will find the abstracts of the scientific contributions of the 87th Annual Meeting of the German Society of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, Head & Neck Surgery that is held from May 4-7, 2016, in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The purpose of those contributions is to adequately represent otolaryngology, head and neck surgery with all its special fields that belongs to the most complex medical disciplines. The numerous abstracts originate from the categories of basic research, diagnostic procedures in their whole spectrum as well as conservative and invasive therapies. In the upcoming years, especially conservative measures will be in the focus of innovative development based on current immunologic research.

I want to thank all authors for their commitment to scientific activity and the creation of the following abstracts for our meeting. Even if these summaries seem to be short, it must not be forgotten how much time of research it takes before such an abstract can be written adequately. I recommend the lecture of the following pages and I am sure that you will gain a positive impression regarding the current status of the scientific development of our discipline.

Prof. Dr. Jochen A. Werner
President of the German Society of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology,
Head & Neck Surgery

Note:

Medical science is subject to constant developments. Therefore it may occur that current research results which could not be taken into account when submitting the German abstracts are now part of the presentation of abstracts/posters at the Annual Meeting of the German Society of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, Head and Neck Surgery.
The English abstracts which are published after the Annual Meeting may therefore diverge in content from the earlier published German abstracts. Hence, the published articles meet the state of knowledge at the completion date of the respective manuscripts.
