"GMS Hygiene and Infection Control" accepted for the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI)

"GMS Hygiene and Infection Control" is the second GMS journal to be accepted for coverage in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), a part of the Web of Science™.

Content in this index is part of the Core Collection of the Web of Science™. The ESCI includes high-quality, peer-reviewed publications of regional importance and in emerging scientific fields after an initial editorial evaluation. This decision is based on the publication standards, the content and citation frequency of the journal. The journal, thus, does not yet have a Journal Impact Factor, but is under consideration by Thomson Reuters to be accepted in the Science Citation Index Expanded™ used to calculate the impact factor.

“GMS Hygiene and Infection Control” (up to 2012 edited under the title "GMS Krankenhaushygiene Interdisziplinär") publishes articles from the entire field of infection prevention and control, ensuring a publication channel for important information on even unusual and selective aspects of this subject. The inclusion of “GMS Hygiene and Infection Control” in the ESCI demonstrates its relevance for the community and strengthens the international visibility and reputation of the journal.
