Dear Friends and Colleagues,
On behalf of the Scientific Committee I would like to invite you to this year's meeting of the "Particle Therapy Co-Operative Group" (PTCOG), which will take place from September 28th to October 3rd, 2009, in Heidelberg, Germany.
Novel to this meeting will be "Integrated Clinical Sessions", with speakers from all different disciplines in medicine, including internal medicine, neurology, surgery or orthopedic surgery. The aim of this concept is to "integrate modern particle therapy into multimodal clinical oncology, and to present therapeutic options from different perspectives". For the first time, this unique concept offers the opportunity to define the role of particle therapy within clinical oncology and to set the stage for subsequent interdisciplinary study protocols. For this purpose, we have invited renowned Speakers in the field of Oncology from many different countries all over the world.
Moreover, the Heidelberg Meeting will bring together experts in the field of particle therapy with a special focus on issues of treatment planning and quality assurance, as well as information on new developments in beam generation and acceleration as well as beam application. Most recent radiobiological findings and novel data in the field of Space Radiation Medicine will be presented by renowned researchers in the field.
We invite you cordially to join us at PTCOG 48, and encourage you to bring also young colleagues and researchers who will certainly benefit from the extensive educational program which will take place on the first three days of the meeting, from September 28 -30, 2009.
