Dear colleagues and friends,

it is our greatest pleasure to welcome you in Berlin to the 18th biannual congress of the International Immunocompromised Host Society (ICHS).

ICHS is the premier, international, multi-disciplinary forum for scientific and clinical interchange to improve understanding and management of the immunocompromised host. It was founded in 1980 by an international group of experts engaged in all different aspects of immune deficiencies including inborn errors, treatment-induced or transplant-associated immunosuppression as well as HIV infection and others.

Our 18th international symposium will be held at the historical Langenbeck Virchow House, located on the campus of the Charité University Hospital, founded in 1710, which has been the place where Robert Koch, Rudolf Virchow, Paul Ehrlich and many other giants on the field of infectious diseases have worked. We hope you all will have the opportunity to take home a few impressions from this historical venue.
